It has one of the best administrations in all of Lahore and a staggering record of O/A Levels results. Top Five Anime Series You Must Watch

Published

on

Anime is just for kids? Think again. If you are one of those people who say that anime are cartoons with no action and thrill, just a show for some ten or twelve years old then these top five anime series will make you reconsider your statement.

1- Death Note

A Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba whose story revolves around a high school boy Light Yagami who encounters a mystic occult notebook “Death Note”. The user of the notebook has the ability to kill anyone whose name he writes on that book as long as the writer has seen that person’s face. Shinigami Ryuk is the notebook’s original owner, who dropped the notebook to the human world out of boredom. Now Light who has a strong sense of Justice devised a plan to rule as a God and eliminate all the criminals and create a world free of filth, discrimination and injustice where only the people he deems morally apt will remain.

Death Note is now an official Netflix movie starring Nat Wolff as Light Yagami.

2- Attack On Titan

Hundred years before the beginning of the story, there existed Titans. Gigantic colossal humanoid figures who devoured human beings with no remorse and particular reason, completely ignoring all other wildlife. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city called Shinganshina, protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Inside these walls people have lived with peace, many of them grew up without ever seeing a Titan until one day a Titan mysteriously emerges after a lightening strike obliterating the wall allowing the smaller titans to invade the district. Chaos ensued as the Titans entered Shinganshina with a mass evacuation. The protagonist of the story Eren Yeager having watched in horror as his mother was eaten up by a Titan and his father disappearing after letting him escape, vowed to kill all the Titans by enlisting in the town’s military with his friends following suit. The series is best known for its emotional moments, apocalyptic setting, and its dramatic story line.

The movie was released on July 14, 2015 and the second part later on September 2015 with the lead role of Eren Yeager played by a Japanese actor Haruma Miura.

3- Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy manga series by Sui Ishada which was first premiered on television on July 2014. It is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, individuals who survive by devouring human flesh are living secretly among human beings eluding from the pursuit of the authorities. When hungry or excited the iris of a ghoul’s eyes turn red. Each ghoul has one special predatory organ called “Kagune”.

The story however revolves around a college student Ken Kaneki, who barely survived the attack of his date Rize Kamishiro who reveals herself as a ghoul. After recovering he discovers that some of Rize’s organs have been transferred into his body in order to save his life and now he has become a half ghoul who, like other ghouls, would have to consume human flesh to survive. The ghouls who manage the coffee shop “Anteiku” took him in and tought him to deal with his new life as a half-ghoul.

Later Yamori, the founding leader of the White Suits from the 13th Ward, known for his brutality and torture decided to turn Kaneki into his next toy. He brought Kaneki into his torture chamber, where he tortured him for ten days by injecting Kaneki with “Rc suppressants” to suppress his ghoul powers and cut off his fingers and toes like nails. When the injection’s effects wore off, he forced Kaneki to eat so his fingers and toes would regrow. Later, he also placed a Chinese red headed centipede in Kaneki’s ear.

Due to the disturbing content in it the PG ratings of this series is 15+ in various countries and even 18+ in countries like Malaysia and Canada.

A live action film was released based on the manga on July 29, 2017 with the lead role of Ken Kaneki played by Masataka Kuboto.

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written by Masashi Kishimoto. It is a story of a young boy Naruto Uzumaki who dreams of becoming a ‘Hokage’, the leader of his village. The story is in two parts, the first set in Naruto’s pre-teen years, and the second in his teens

A powerful fox known as the Nine Tails attacks Konoha, the hidden leaf village in the Land of Fire, one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries in the Ninja World. In response, the leader of Konoha, the Fourth Hoakge seals the fox inside the body of his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, making Naruto a host of the beast known as Jinchurikithis costs Naruto’s parents their life. Shortly afterwards, Naruto becomes a ninja and joins with Sasuke Uchiha against whom he often competes, and Sakura Haruno on whom he has a crush, to form Team 7, under an experienced sensei, the elite ninja Kakashi Hatake. Orochimaru, a former ninja of leaf village succeeds to coax Sasuke into his trap in order to train him to make him powerful and compelling so that Sasuke can kill his elder brother Itachi who assassinated all of his clan sparing Sasuke’s life. Sasuke leaves the Leaf Village while Naruto and Sakura try to convince him to return but fail. However they both don’t give up on him, Naruto leaves Konoha to receive training from Jiraiya to prepare himself for the next time he encounters Sasuke, while Sakura becomes Tsunade, the fifth Hoakge’s, apprentice.

After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work, though it will not be easy, as he has amassed a few more dangerous enemies, like Akatsuki and Tobi. Later all the shinobis of the ninja world combine their forces and abilities to fight against Madara Uchiha and the army of white zetsu giving rise to the fourth greatest ninja war.

US gifts a sculpture to France but makes the French pay for it

Former US ambassador to France Jeff Koons donated a $3.4 million monumental sculpture, as announced in November 2016, to honor the victims of the 2015 terror attacks in Paris.

US have more or less turned into a lame joke when it comes to popular culture, and make no mistake, it all started after the Americans, intellectual, decided to vote for Donald Trump.

Former US ambassador to France Jeff Koons donated a $3.4 million monumental sculpture, as announced in November 2016, to honor the victims of the 2015 terror attacks in Paris.

The sculpture called ‘Bouquet of Tulips’, a hand holding a bouquet of balloon tulips, is a 40 feet high structure currently under construction situated in a plaza some blocks away from the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Jeff Koons merely donated the idea to the city of Paris but didn’t pay for it. The required funds for the construction are to be raised by a private foundation, which basically means the French will have to pay for the so-called gift by the Americans.

Influential personalities in the fields of art and politics from the French side called it more of a coup for the artist and his private donors than for Paris.

Isabel Pasquier, an art critic at France Inter, one of the country’s leading public radio stations said “They presented this bouquet as symbolic present to Paris, but then we realized it wasn’t exactly a present, since France had to pay to install it,

Whether you appreciate his art or not,” she added, “Jeff Koons is a businessman, and we quickly understood that he was offering Paris to himself as a present”
